Member's Covenant

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

We commit ourselves, therefore, by the help of the Holy Spirit:

1. To walk together in Christian love;
2. To strive for the advancement of this church and God's kingdom in knowledge, holiness, compassion, justice, righteousness and mercy;
3. To promote the prosperity and spirituality of Christ's church by upholding His ordinances, practicing discipline and following biblical teachings;
4. Through the resources entrusted to us - spiritual gifts, time, and finances, to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of its ministry and general expenses, the spreading of the Gospel among all nations, and the relief of those who are in need.

We also commit:

1. To maintain family and personal devotions;
2. To educate our children in the faith;
3. To seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintance;
4. To walk carefully and responsibly in the world, to be salt and light in society, to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, exemplary in our lifestyle, and to be zealous on our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further commit:

1. To watch over one another in Christian love and concern;
2. To remember each other in prayer;
3. To aid each other in sickness and in distress;
4. To cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech;
5. To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the teaching and example of our Savior.

We moreover engage that when we move to a different location, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word. Amen.

會友約章

順著聖靈的帶領，我們憑信心接受主耶穌作我們的救主，又因表明信心，我們奉聖父、聖子、聖靈的名接受了浸禮，如今我們嚴肅並歡樂地在神、天使及眾人面前，彼此訂約宣告，在主裡成為一個身體，因此，藉著聖靈的幫助，

我們實行以下：

1. 在基督的愛裡一同合作。
2. 努力追求真道，聖潔、公義與憐憫，使本會及神的國度有所進展。
3. 遵守聖禮與實行聖經的教訓，使教會興旺，靈性增長。
4. 善用神所託付我們的資源，包括屬靈恩賜，時間與金錢；經常樂意供給本會事工及一般費用，支持世界福音傳播工作，及幫助有需要的人。

我們亦實踐：

1. 維持個人及家庭靈修；
2. 以同一信仰培育下一代；
3. 幫助親友踏上得救的途徑；
4. 待人接物謹慎負責，作世上的鹽和光；處事公平、守約，有良好生活見証，熱心效勞神國度的事工。

我們更要：

1. 以基督的愛彼此關顧；
2. 彼此代禱；
3. 在憂患疾病中互相照應；
4. 培養基督徒應有關懷之心及禮貌的言辭；
5. 不輕易動怒，常常與人和好相交，要留心我們救主的教導和榜樣。

Richmond Hill (Chinese) Baptist Church
STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. BIBLE
We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty –six Books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and therefore entirely free from error, that the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and the true basis of Christian union.

2. GOD
We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Person – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

3. CHRIST
We believe in the absolute and essential deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, in His eternal existence with the Father in preincarnate glory, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return.

4. THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, Who convinces of sin, or righteousness and of judgement; Who regenerates, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.

5. MAN
We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God; that he sinned, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death.

6. SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by the sovereign, electing grace of God; that by the appointment of the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a substitutionary and redemptive death; that justification is by faith alone in the all sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and that those whom God called shall be divinely preserved and finally perfected in the image of the Lord.

7. FUTURE THINGS
We believe in the personal bodily and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgment and eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.

8. THE LOCAL CHURCH
We believe that a local church is a community of believers, called out from the world, separated unto the Lord Jesus, voluntarily associated for the ministry of the Word, the mutual edification of its members, the propagation of the faith and the observance of the ordinances. We believe it is a sovereign, independent body, exercising its own divinely awarded gifts, precepts and privileges under the lordship of Christ, the Head of the Church.

9. ORDINANCES
We believe that there are only two ordinances for the Church regularly observed in the New Testament in the following order:
(1) Baptism which is the immersion of the believer in water, whereby he obeys Christ’s command and sets forth his testimony in identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
(2) The Lord’s Supper which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of the two elements, bread and wine, which symbolize the Lord’s body and shed blood, proclaiming His heath until He comes.

10. MARRIAGE
We believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant ordained by God between a man and a woman. Marriage is designed to be the exclusive domain for sexual intimacy and procreation of children.

信仰宣言

1. 聖經
我信全部新舊約聖經是神完整的話語：是聖靈的默示，信仰與行為的唯一準則，所有基督徒聯合的根據。

2. 父神
我信獨一的神，宇宙的創造者，聖潔、全能、永活的父、子、聖靈乃三而一的真神。

3. 耶穌基督
我信耶穌基督兼有真實的神人二性；與父神同存、同享道成肉身之前的尊榮，因聖靈感孕藉童貞女而生，死於十架代人贖罪，使信者因祂的寶血稱義。祂死後身體復活，榮耀的升天，任中保之職，將來還要再來。

4. 聖靈
我信聖靈完全無缺的神性及位格；祂叫人知罪，明白公義及審判；祂使人重生，叫人成聖稱義。使信耶穌的人都蒙安慰與啟迪。

5. 人
我信人是按照神的形象而造；因犯罪悖逆而墮落，身靈須受死亡痛苦，在神面前是有罪的。完全沉淪及墮落，引致肉身及屬靈的死亡。

6. 救恩
我信救恩是神揀選的恩典；由父神而定，基督自願受代贖之死；因信稱義，相信基督的獻上及復活是足夠的。因神的揀選，祂必定保守到底。

7. 末後的事
我信基督榮耀的肉身降臨；義和不義的皆將肉身復活，義人復活進入永福，惡人復活後，受審判進入永刑。

8. 地方教會
我信教會是由信徒所組成，從世界中被呼召出來，分別為聖歸屬基督；並願彼此用真道服侍，互相建立，宣告信仰及遵照所定禮義。我信教會是一個自存，自主的個體，在以基督為首的領導下，各自運用神所給予的恩賜。

9. 聖禮(禮儀)
我信新約教會所遵依的兩個聖禮
(一)浸禮是信徒全身浸入水中，服從基督的命令，信徒藉浸禮表示與基督同死、同葬、同復活。
(二)主餐是信徒以餅及杯代表基督的身體及寶血，信徒記念主表明祂的死，直等到祂來。

10. 婚姻
我信婚姻乃是神為一男一女所設立，並且是一生之久的盟約。男女性關係及生兒育女亦只容許在這種婚姻以內發生。
